Innovations being spotlighted by Pall during the show include the following:
Pall GeneDisc® Rapid Microbiology System
Pall’s GeneDisc system is a new easy-to-use instrument for quick and reliable detection of beer-spoiling microorganisms. Based on real-time PCR technology, the flexible, modular GeneDisc system helps optimize work flow and offers the capability to process different applications simultaneously. Its intuitive touch-screen interface and built-in, user-friendly software and barcode reader allow for easy adoption of the technology. A clear, straightforward display of results enables minimally trained personnel to routinely perform sophisticated biological sample testing for rapid decision-making.
The Pall GeneDisc system recently helped German authorities screen for a deadly strain of E.coli that disrupted the nation’s food industry. The technology was used by Germany’s national reference laboratory to expedite testing of food samples for the toxic strain of the pathogen known as E.coli O104:H4 (STEC).
SUPRApakTM Filtration Housing
Pall’s new SUPRApak Multistack housing for high flow rates offers a capacity range of 240-500 hl/h. It accommodates up to 24 SUPRApak modules and the hygienic enclosed system design eliminates drip losses. In addition, significant savings are realized in energy required for heat sterilization and water use. The SUPRApak housing occupies a far smaller footprint than alternative solutions for high flow rates.
PROFi Beer Filtration Panel Discussion
Kieselguhr-free beer filtration with the PROFi system will be the headline topic during a panel discussion on November 9th at 16:00 hours in CCN Ost, Room Shanghai. The event, organized by Pall and GEA Westfalia Separator Group, will allow users of this new technology to share experiences with beer filtration experts.
The PROFi system technology offers a smart solution to the demands of the brewing industry via DE-free clarification and operation cost savings. The PROFi membrane system minimizes waste, water and utility consumption while increasing brewery production efficiency. Designed for automated, continuous operation, PROFi membrane systems deliver speed and flexibility of brand changes with bright beer quality and high yield. The modular design maximizes production security, cleaning effectiveness and utility usage. The PROFi system combines a high performance centrifuge with a “zero retentate” crossflow membrane filter unit to provide efficient, DE-free clarification of beer.
