PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., March 23, 2010 -
Pall Corporation (NYSE: PLL), a global leader in filtration, separation
and purification, announced today that its new FlexBowl™ filter housing
system received the 2010 Engineering Merit Award from the American
Filtration & Separations Society (AFS). The award was presented by the
AFS Users Committee at the society’s Annual Spring Conference in San
The AFS Engineering Merit Award recognizes a significant advancement in
the science and technology of fluid/particle separation. Pall’s FlexBowl
filter housing system was singled out for its versatility and
flexibility as a modular solution for safe, efficient and economical wet
"As a corporate sponsor of the AFS, we value Pall's support,” said
Suzanne Sower, executive manager, American Filtration & Separations
Society. “The products made by Pall Corporation enhance the entire
global community. It is our honor to recognize this product line."
The FlexBowl system is designed to address the environmental, safety,
and health (ESH) process equipment management challenges highlighted in
the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) 2008
edition. The system’s universal manifold, engineered to accommodate a
fully disposable capsule assembly or a reusable housing, offers numerous
options to increase the speed, efficiency and safety of filter changes.
It occupies considerably less work space than legacy systems, is much
easier to handle, and reduces the likelihood of spills, thereby
increasing safety while decreasing downtime and environmental impact.
Further, process engineers are able to select the appropriate vessel
size to match changes in production volume.
"Pall is committed to providing customers with technologies and tools
that help them to innovate and achieve their goals," said Steve Chisolm,
president, Pall Microelectronics. "We appreciate this recognition by the
American Filtration & Separations Society."
